Jenny Craig: Get Moving and Eat More?

by Michelle on June 3, 2009

in Jenny Craig

I just started doing the JennyCraig program, so hopefully I’ll be as healthy as Valerie Bertinelli by next summer!  So far, so good. I am losing about 1 to 1.5 pounds per week. It’s coming off slow but steady.

Normally I would be impatient with this kind of slow, healthy weight loss—-which is why I keep doing the YoYo dieting and the reason I wanted to try Jenny Craig.

But the people at JennyCraig are incredibly supportive and they really help me get motivated and stay motivated. Here are a few things I’ve learned about myself during my journey to better health via JennyCraig.

#1-Get Moving!

I am not moving NEARLY enough! Working at the computer, working at home leads to lots more down time than I realized. I started wearing  the JennyCraig pedometer (geek!) around my belt. The peeps at JennyCraig said that 10,000 steps per day is the number of steps/daily to maintain weight. 12,000 steps per day is the figure they wanted me to have at the end of the day.

When I started, I was only walking 6,000 steps a day, on average. OMG. I am a sloth.  I am trying to hit the 12,000 steps per day mark but I gotta get going more!

#2-Eat More!

On JennyCraig, the idea is NOT to feel deprived. The people at Jenny want me to have a healthier attitude toward food. One of my biggest challenges on JennyCraig is to EAT everything that is on the daily menu. I have to remind myself to eat!  I am so used to “dieting” that I have to be careful that I eat enough every day.  I’ve never had this problem on a diet plan before!

I will check in soon, just wanted to give you an update on my JennyCraig jouney towards health!  Check out JennyCraig for yourself on their website, JennyCraig.com!

Disclosure: I am not being paid write about my experience using the Jenny Craig program.  I am receiving free food from JennyCraig to try out the program and give the company my honest feedback.
